It’s graduation day! I know we are in the midst of craziness; however, this week I am pausing to celebrate my oldest daughter’s graduation from college. What a joy it is to know there is a time and season for everything – a perfect rhythm. It often times feels chaotic but it is when most change occurs. Then once you have pushed through the fire, persevered, put in the hard work; there is a time to celebrate!
It is my prayer for our cities, communities and country as a whole; that we can push through, make important changes (not only on a legal and structural level but on a heart level too) and become healthy – both physically and mentally. Then celebrate change, celebrate reform, celebrate our health. I have hope this day will be here soon and I hope you do too. Until this day comes, may we celebrate each other – graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, even the small wins – with joy, gusto and lots of love!
My daughter’s canceled graduation ceremony has given space for all of us to rally together and find unique ways to celebrate her and her roommates. And no worries as she is staying another year to get her MBA. Hopefully there will be a graduation ceremony next June and if not, we will once again find a great way to celebrate. Hope you have and/or can find something special to pause and celebrate during this challenging season!
Inspiration/Resources:
Verse:
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
(New Living Translation)
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.
