This week my little dream took another step forward in offering an on-line retail space where I can begin selling my favorite things. Not as a measure to promote me; but as a way I can share the things that have brought me joy, in the hopes it will bring others joy too. In true fashion of my life recently, my application was essentially denied. Turns out you cannot solely use any part of your given name as your business name.
What I would like to think of as “in my new true fashion”, the problem was resolved in a day and we are onto the next step. In figuring out what I will now be “doing business as”, I was inspired by Joseph (think Donny Osmond – Technicolor Dreamcoat) and how his dreams and skills were overlooked the first time, but then eventually used by God in a strong way. Do you wonder if sometimes our roadblocks are God’s way of seeing if you will keep persisting? Keep trying? Or if we are going to easily give up?
I am letting this question encourage me, not discourage me. I am choosing to stay in the arena, not only in this wrestling match of my marriage, but in my business dream as well. It is empowering to stand back up after each knock down and say, “bring it – let’s do this God” because I KNOW that all things work together for good to those who love Him, who trust Him and continue to look to Him even during the hardest times. Jesus has my back and He has yours too.
