It is here – 2020 – the new year AND a new decade. I have my word set [transfigure] and am ready to GO! Have you heard the hymn, I Have Decided to Follow Jesus? At the end of each stanza is the line, “no turning back, no turning back”. I am there and hope you are too. No more looking back, over my shoulder, wondering what could have been or what else is back there to haunt me. Nope – we are moving forward, pressing on and leaning into our dreams and goals for both this new year and new decade.
Over the past two and half years, I have spent way too much time dissecting wrong turns, crappy decisions and the intentions of others (which are impossible to know for sure). It has brought healing in some areas, but in many cases, it has delayed my over-all healing process. I am so thankful for a new year. A break in the calendar where God prompts us to say good-bye to the old and hello to the new. One of my goals this year is to write down 1,000 gifts that I am grateful for; it is started in the note section of my phone with a reminder to post on 12/31/2020 with the goal met (please hold me to this!)
An attitude of gratitude keeps me happily focused on my road ahead. It allows me to cheer you on without limitation because I am thankful for my road and not judging it against yours. Gratitude is fueling me with joy to run a (very) small business with fear-hurdles along the track. My hope is when we begin tripping on the hurdles that will pop up this year, we can look up and thank Him for how far we have come and quickly put the hurdle behind us! In the words of Dave Hollis – “Let’s GOOOOOOO”
Inspiration/Resources:
Hymn: I Have Decided – Elevation Worship
Verse: I Thessalonians 5:16-18a (ERV), “Always be full of joy. Never stop praying. Whatever happens, always be thankful.
Book: One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp (yes, yes, I’m still reading this one – it’s good!)
Shop: The “Item of the Week” is our cute, scalloped edge white and gold votive. It’s perfect with a little tea light, a small candle or even as small vase. Create something totally out of the box and pair it with a mini bottle of champagne, gold sparkle candle and a birthday card for a cute and easy gift! Hope you will grab one or two and let your light shine on!
