Back in the day when my kids were little, 4pm was MY hour – it was Oprah time and I was not to be bothered (seriously – you can ask my girls today and I’m sure they will remember). When the show was wrapping up, Oprah did a segment called her “greatest lessons”. One of her greatest lessons resulted from a show in which she invited a group of white supremacists in the hopes to confront their hatred and ignorance. The idea backfired and the one-hour episode became a platform for a message she never intended. Bottom line from Oprah – never give up your platform.
I think our individual platforms develop from our imagination. Our thoughts of “I wonder if I could….”. And if you are like me, the dreams start to come together at the same point the fear and worry creep in. I realized over the past year I gave too much power to fear. It stops us from being brave, courageous and sometimes even fun and joyful.
The month of August is a busy one here on my developing platform. My goal is to clear out as much fear as I possibly can to make room to develop the dreams and ideas God is placing in my mind and on my heart. My dream for you is that you would join me! We can start by taking a tip from Alli Worthington and thinking the best in others and believe they are thinking the best of you! When we believe the best in ourselves and others we are free to imagine without worry.
