Here we go! Movers delivered 14 years worth of “life” from our old house into the new one yesterday. WOW! That is all I can say because I need to look into becoming a minimalist. Last night, our first night in the new home was interesting. One dog ate out of the cat’s litter box in the middle of the night while the other pooped in her new dog bed. It was a crappy night to say the least – HA! Four animals in the master bedroom is going to be an adjustment.
Big picture question – does it seem that once you achieve your goal/dream/vision there is still a ton of work to be done to sustain it and/or hold onto it? The ride to this dream of a forever home at times was smooth sailing and also the craziest ride of my life, all rolled into one experience. It has me thinking about prayers in the same way. Even when a prayer is answered, there can still a tremendous amount of faith, hope and trust needed. Then there are times when prayers are not answered and all I can do is try to thank God for what I do have and listen to Garth Brook’s song “Unanswered Prayers” (thanks Amy!).
The goal of this forever home is to make it feel like a sanctuary. I love Joshua 24:15b, “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord”. I am trusting Him first as we continue down this path of life. It is going to take some time to get the house in order BUT the kitchen is coming along and I hope you love the before & after photos on Instagram & Facebook. Seeing transformation inspires me to keep making each day a little better than the one before. Next up is the master bedroom and bathroom. Wish me luck 🙂
