Well friends – the moving process is done – amen! Every box is unpacked with everything put away and organized. The goal was to have it completed by Halloween, so I am thrilled it is done early with a few days of sun to enjoy the outdoors and pool. Next up will be more decorating, new flooring in a few rooms, re-opening the shop and prepping for Thanksgiving – YAY!
The road to this home – dream home – forever home – has been a long one and deserves a few shout-out’s. First, Mike is the one who found the house on-line. He convinced Mia and I to take the drive to Vista to look at it (on the way Mia and I had already decided we were not going to move). Little did we all know the owners of the home were also the builder and interior designer of the home and had owned the land for 23 years (the number of years Mike and I have been married). They built and decorated the home based on Joanna Gaines’ design style (my absolute favorite) and wanted almost all of the furniture to stay with the house (thank you very much!). Before moving in, I felt a bit overwhelmed with the task of blending the previous owners style with my personal style – slowly but surely, this fear is minimizing. The trick is getting in there and just doing it! I am excited to continue adding in new pieces and styles, especially as the holidays arrive.
Finally a special thank you to Jeremiah, our realtor. I had no clue the amount of work that goes into buying and selling a home, especially at the same time. He showed us how much can get accomplished when we use our gifts and talents as a team and boy did he have a great team! We are grateful for this whole experience and excited for the future. Don’t forget to dream big my friends!!
Inspiration:
Book: Dream Big by Bob Goff. His step by step process is inspiring and will get you going on living your dreams!
Verse: Zechariah 4:10, “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin”.
Interview: Tell Me More with Kelly Corrigan. I LOVE this new series on PBS, especially the interviews with James Corden & Jennifer Garner! It is inspiring how they embrace challenges and new beginnings.
