As I was going through my life-fail a few years ago, well-meaning Christian friends and family would encourage me to “remember God’s promises”. This phrase came up again this past Sunday in my pastor’s sermon. It sounds beautiful, uplifting and the right thing to say in the moment when someone is hurting. However, I don’t know about you, but when I am feeling low it is not easy to start pulling out God’s promises from your brain. I was raised in church, done a million Bible Studies (which I love doing) and still, when life nose-dives it is hard for anyone to begin pulling uplifting verses from memory in the moment!
This week I really felt led to list out a few of God’s promises for those of you going through a tough season in life. I hope these get you started in the direction of feeling hopeful and loved as well as inspire you to keep adding to the list as you find more! Feel free to reach out if you need additional verses or promises on a specific topic – it is my joy to help!
