Happy February! This month I am changing up the blog a little bit to focus on the home. Decluttering, cleaning, decor and how just a little work in each area will make you more relaxed and feel accomplished. If you know me well – you know I love Peter Walsh (an oldie), Marie Kondo and The Home Edit gals. I personally feel more at ease and ready to take on the day if I can look around and not feel weighed down by excess and clutter.
For 28 days, I am posting a new area on my Insta account (nancydeannedecor) to work on in the home; and each post will include a short list of to-do’s along with an extra-credit option and a few ideas of things I love and where to find them. The rewarding part is it will not take up more than 30 minutes of your day (unless you haven’t done a cleaning/decluttering project in a while – then it may take longer) – and each day will leave you feeling lighter and hopefully your home looking and smelling better (most of my extra credit tips include candles or home spray).
So roll up your sleeves, and if you are a guy reading this, roll up your sleeves too and help your wife/girlfriend out, and get your home ready for spring! (How awesome will it feel to get to spring and already have done the cleaning – so much more time to relax).
Inspiration/Resources:
Verse – Zechariah 4:10a (NLT), “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”
Netflix – FOR THE LOVE – if you have not watched Tidying Up with Marie Kondo or Getting Organized with The Home Edit, stop your life and watch it now!
Discovery+ – the latest episode of Fixer Upper will inspire you with their before and after (I guarantee your home is NOT even close to as bad as this before).
Spotify – music is great to listen to while cleaning. Check out Brene Brown’s funky Yacht Rock playlist. It’s fun 🙂
