Recently I have been venturing out in search of new hikes in San Diego. While I am not a huge fan of sweating; it is therapeutic for me to be out in nature. I am in awe of the beauty God has created. There are times I feel closest to God when I am quietly hiking through His creation.
Laurie Kehler describes her experience with God and nature as “falling in love with and delighting in God’s handiwork and discovering His heart in it. The more you learn about the amazing things He has done, the more you want to learn and enjoy them.” We all come to God in different ways – through friendships, pastors, failures, and for some, it will be through nature. My hope is that we can embrace how each of us connects with God and celebrate those differences.
This Father’s Day, my husband and I will be out with our girls and our dogs for a fabulous family hike in nature. I hope you can find sometime this weekend to unwind, soak in some sun and celebrate the beauty of nature around you!

Psalm 104:24-25 (NLT): “O Lord, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures. Here is the ocean, vast and wide, teeming with life of every kind, both large and small.”
