Happy Saturday – we survived a week of quarantine/shelter-in-place! It definitely feels like the Twilight Zone meets ultimate cabin fever. This week I made a schedule for each day and attempted to do one “normal” thing to help me feel grounded during this crazy time. Hope you are all not only surviving but finding ways to thrive during these unknown and confusing times. Today (Friday) I had a moment of clarity that inspired this post and is a reminder of the power of one. One smile, one kind word, one person helping another.

Let me back up and explain a bit more. Each week after my blog goes out, I get an update from MailChimp letting me know how many people have subscribed to my blog. Some weeks the number only goes up by one and if I am being completely honest, it can bum me out a bit. However, today I was delivering lunch to a special family in need and God impressed on my heart the power of one. One meal – it meant so much to the mom of this sweet family. I believe God created us for just this; one person helping another to bring them joy, hope and love.

I want to get vulnerable here and ask if any of you are the one in need? Sometimes we are the one on the giving side and sometimes we are the one in need, and I would love to know if any of you have needs this week. Whether it is a need for prayer, supplies, a gift card or help paying bills. I am a part of a small but mighty community that is so giving. My hope is if you are struggling you will not stay silent. Local Business In Need: D&M Wholesale Florist | 3208 La Mirada Drive, San Marcos, CA. This small floral business has been hit hard during this time. I spent some time with the owner today, bought some flowers and firewood and left with a heavy heart. His grocery store and weddings orders have been canceled. We all could use a little spring in our home – I hope you will consider swinging by this shop and supporting them!
