Happy Saturday my friends! This week I started a new book and in the first chapter was the following quote by Dallas Willard (it knocked my socks off!):
“What is running your life at any given moment is your soul. Not external circumstances, not your thoughts, not your intentions, not even your feelings, but your soul. The soul is that aspect of your whole being that correlates, integrates, and enlivens everything going on in the various dimensions of the self. The soul is the life center of human beings.”
It seems a bit extreme to think external circumstances are NOT running my life in some way. Does he not know we are quarantined? Six weeks into quarantine? It made me think long and hard about my decisions, choices, words and actions. What will we blame on “this time” that may not have anything to do with COVID; but everything to do with our soul?
During this month of May, I look forward to doing a lot of self-care. Part of this will include soul-searching and cleaning out any lies, expectations from others, judgement and negativity. Hope you will join me!
