Transfigure
trans·fig·ure | /ˌtran(t)sˈfiɡ(y)ər/ | verb | transform into something more beautiful or elevated
In 2017, a wonderful friend gifted me the book, One Word That Will Change Your Life. I was intrigued and followed the instructions to a tee to figure out my word for that year. After more than an hour of reading, meditating and praying, the word that came to me was “fire”. I was a bit stumped. Did this mean I was going to be “on fire” in my faith, or possibly a spark of new life? I was unsure of the word and how to apply it, but looking back I realize it did not matter. What it meant was I was about to walk through the fire of my life.
The “fire” that sparked August 2017 broke me to my core. To the point that by the time 2018 rolled around, I had no interest in going through the word-finding process again. I was still reeling from the previous year’s word. In 2019, my word was Courage. It took every ounce of courage to trust God had/has a plan for me, to believe that I was truly loved despite my circumstances and to find deeper meaning to both my life and the purpose of suffering. If you have read my blogs over the past 6 months, you understand this struggle, and I thank you! Thank you for your kind comments, texts of encouragement and your friendship.
My word for 2020 is transfigure and I could not be more excited to begin not only a new year, but a new decade as well. My goal is to allow God to transfigure every part of my life – my home, my relationships and my new business/on-line shop opening this Wednesday! My prayer for you – my friends, family and readers – is that you find your word, so much love and peace this new year.
